My name is Victor Akanyijuka. I’m doing Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying & Geomatics student at Makerere University and an active member of Geo Youth Mappers. I’m passionate about using geospatial data to solve real problems — from urban planning to community development.

I believe a good map is a public good. That’s why I joined OpenStreetMap to make sure the places that matter in my community are visible, accurate, and accessible to everyone. My focus is on documenting the everyday infrastructure that people rely on; schools, health centres, water points, public transport stops, footpaths, and local businesses. In many parts of the world, these are still missing and outdated on digital maps. That affects navigation, service delivery, emergency response, and even small business visibility. I’m new to OSM but committed to learning proper tagging, validation, and field surveying. I’m open to collaboration. And if you spot a mistake in my edits, please let me know, I’m here to improve.
